To this end, Crystal Serenity is best suited to sophisticated travellers, typically over 50, who are looking for contemporary ship surroundings, with fine quality fittings and furnishings, a wide range of public rooms and facilities, and excellent food and service from a well-trained staff.
The Crystal Dining Room is quite elegant, with a crisp, clean “California Modern” style that includes plenty of space around each table. There are tables for two (many positioned adjacent to large windows), four, six or eight. At dinner, a wandering trio serenades passengers at their tables, but this is tacky and not representative of fine dining.
The food is attractively presented on large plates, and well served. It is of a very high standard. European dishes are predominantly featured (but in an American style). The menus are extremely varied, and feature a fine selection of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes.
The Bistro is a casual spot for coffees and pastries, served in the style and atmosphere of a European street cafe. For casual meals, the Lido Cafe has an extensive self-serve buffet area. For casual poolside lunches, there is also the Trident Grill, as well as an ice cream/frozen yoghurt counter with no extra charge.
