Winners emerge from the Natures Gentle Touch Promo. Fourteen young ladies were selected after the competition tagged Love your Natural Hair, was held on social media.
The competition was born to make African ladies proud of their natural hair by posting pictures of themselves on natural hair.
These fourteen young ladies were rewarded with Natures Gentle Touch products. They will be cover girls of the limited exclusive brochure by the brand, sanitizers and free hair voucher.
Amechi Koldsweat marketing manager of Recare Natures Gentle Touch said at the award which took place at Natures Gentle Touch Institute Victoria Island Lagos that:
“We notice a lot of African women are not so proud of their natural hair with the influx of wigs, braids. We came up with the campaign that Nigerian women should take a picture of their natural hair and post on our Instagram page. We planned to award 14 winners according to the highest likes. The competition started in February the month of love for two weeks, and we shortlisted fourteen ladies. They will be rewarded as a cover girl of our limited exclusive brochure, free products to help their hair grow better and they will also have a free hair voucher where they will come into the Institute at Isolo to get their hair pampered.”
According to him the Institute had 16,000 likes on Social Media within two weeks of the promo, and over 300 entries but the top fourteen were chosen; ten live in Lagos while four live outside Lagos. “The same gifts will be sent to the winners outside Lagos,” he said.
The Institute believes that the hair is the crown of women stating that they need to know that there is an institute that can take care their hair and make it look as good as one wearing a wig.
“We plan to take this further; we are going to do an Easter promo still in line with loving your natural hair. We stand for women looking beautiful, and we feel using your natural hair makes it look more beautiful. A lot of people feel natural hair means virgin hair which is not true, whether it has been relaxed or not, it is all-natural hair. We are trichologists, not stylist it goes beyond one being a stylist. If anyone comes in here for the first time, we run a test. We have an expensive machine that does that. It tells us everything that has to do with your hair. There is a consulting room before any treatment,” he stated
Also, he said the institutes also cater to male hair.
“We have a product called nonstop; it’s for men for shaving. We have an office in Isolo, Victoria Island, we will be launching GRA Ikeja sometime before the end of quarter two, and before the end of the first quarter next year we should launch Abuja and Portharcourt.”
