The Kauri Cliffs Golf Course pictured here, once called “Pebble Beach on steroids” by PGA professional Brandt Snedeker. Kauri Cliffs was designed and built by David Harman of Golf Course Consultants, Orlando, Florida. The par 72 championship golf course measures 7,139 yards / 6,528 meters and offers five sets of tees to challenge every skill level. Fifteen holes view the Pacific Ocean, six of which are played alongside cliffs which plunge to the sea. The beautiful inland holes wind through marsh, forest and farmland. Kauri Cliffs is currently ranked #37 in the world by Golf Digest Top 100 Greatest Golf Courses in the World.

Kauri Cliffs recently underwent a renovation from world renowned golf course architect Rees Jones. The 5th hole received a complete redesign and was transformed from a long, uphill, forced carry par-3 to a short “drop shot” par-3. Other notable changes were the addition of tees on the 2nd and 9th holes and a bunker renovation on the 4th hole. The golf complex includes a world-class practice range, putting and chipping greens, a well stocked golf shop, and ladies’ and men’s locker rooms. Premium ladies’ and men’s rental clubs are available.

Fuji Golf CourseKawana hotel, Shizuoka, Japan

Fuji Golf Course, Kawana hotel, Shizuoka, Japan

Fuji Golf Course was opened in 1935 and is one of Japan’s most renowned traditional golf courses. At this resort course, which skillfully utilizes the terrain at the foot of Mt. Fuji, enjoy views of the mountain and the natural world before your eyes.

The holes are separated by Japanese Red Pine and the fairway is broad and flat overall. Also due to the small intervals between courses, Fuji Golf Course is the perfect place to play golf while walking and gazing at Mt. Fuji. (Golf carts can also be used.) There are many highly strategic elements; in particular, you will feel challenged by playing on the high-speed green that is down grain from Mt. Fuji. This highly scenic course will satisfy everyone from beginners to low handicappers. After playing a round, relax in our natural hot spring.

Arguably the best Japanese golf course open to the public (the Hirono is only for members), the Fuji course presents breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean on one side and Mount Fuji on the other. It’s also the most expensive course to play on in the country, with green fees reaching US$300 (S$409).

The Club was founded in 1891 and has been host to numerous national and international tournaments.  It has a proud reputation of providing members and guests with a friendly, welcoming and inclusive experience.

Most golfers usually opt for the West layout, but the East course more than holds its own. It consistently ranks in the top 20 in the world and is still challenging to the experienced golfer while being accessible enough for those with high handicaps. It’s the perfect weekend golf trip for golf tourists and Australians.
