Onabrakpeya, Olaku, Dale, Oshinowo Lead Arthouse Contemporary Online Auction

Works of Master of Modern and contemporary will lead the twenty-fifth edition online auctions by Arthouse Contemporary. The auction will take place online on Invaluable website, November 30, 2020, 6 PM (WAT).

Arthouse Contemporary will conduct its Modern and Contemporary Art Auction online due to the restrictions of social gatherings during the pandemic. The online auction will take place on Invaluable, the online auction platform and marketplace, www.invaluable.com.

This auction will include 80 lots of artworks from the modern period and cutting edge contemporary art. Featured masters include Erhabor Emokpae, Akinola Lasekan, Bruce Onobrakpeya, Okpu Eze, Abiodun Olaku, Chuks Anyanwu, David Dale and Kolade Oshinowo.

Leading contemporary artists include Rom Isichei, Ben Osaghae, Victor Ehikhamenor, Peju Alatise, Kainebi Osahenye, Diseye Tantua, Duke Asidere, Alex Nwokolo, Chidi Kwubiri and Wole Lagunju, among others. International artists from outside of Nigeria include Ablade Glover, Kofi Agorsor, Wiz Kuduwor, Dominique Zinkpe, Larry Otoo and Godfried Donkor, and Kofi Asemnyinah. The auction also features prints by Uche Okeke, Ben Enwonwu, David Dale and Yinka Shonibare.

This auction features four charity lots by Joseph Eze, Sade Thompson, Tayo Olayode and Enem Inwang, in support of the Adara Empowerment Foundation. The Adara Empowerment Foundation focuses on empowering women to actively contribute to the social-economic development of Africa by providing education and training support for women and youth; and supporting, promoting and documenting African arts and culture. Investing in the economic empowerment of women is the core pillar of their work and they aim to reduce women’s vulnerabilities while boosting their skills and ability to participate in key economic sectors in Africa, including fashion, technology, energy, agriculture, and arts and culture. Since 2017 the Foundation has reached more than 14,000 beneficiaries through a combination of skills training, education promotion, health access and education, financial education, humanitarian relief initiatives and market access opportunities. In addition, no Buyer’s Premium will be added to these lots.
