Charming Classic SY Borkumriff II Yacht Is Reborn With Contemporary Twist

Contemporary Twist

After a major refit, the 31-meter Borkumriff II is raring to go. She offers all the elegance of a classic sailing yacht experience alongside sumptuous accommodation and a focus on hospitality from her expert crew to make the most of your time on the water this summer and beyond.

Originally delivered in 1982 by Lubbe Voss for a highly experienced and passionate yacht owner the 31-meter Borkumriff II comes with a contemporary twist after a comprehensive refit in 2020. This makes her the ideal choice for relaxed family getaways or as a fun base for groups of friends on the lookout for adventure.

Borkumriff II sleeps up to eight guests in four ensuite cabins, including a spacious master suite and three further guest cabins. The comfortable and modern dining-saloon on the lower deck has convivial seating around the table, a standalone desk area and bar, while the wheelhouse offers a second relaxation space for an early morning coffee or afternoon cocktail in bright and airy surroundings with views on three sides.

Her deck features a shaded cockpit with plenty of seating at the convertible dining table forward of the helm, perfect as a sheltered and safe spot to take in the action while underway or to enjoy a romantic al fresco meal at anchor. Alternatively, kick back and relax on the large lounging chairs on the deck, soaking up the surroundings while the experienced and friendly crew of five take care of your every need.

For some action on the water, why not take the helm under the supervision of the captain to feel the power of the wind moving Borkumriff II effortlessly through the water.  The yacht’s two tenders and other watersports toys offer a chance to make the most of the aquatic surroundings, whether you are exploring a secluded bay or heading ashore for a tour of a nearby port town.

History Restored

Borkumriff II is fresh from a major refit and maintenance period in 2020, with a wide selection of technical and aesthetic works having been completed to restore her to her original glory, with all the modern comforts you could wish for on a superyacht.

She is gleaming on the outside, thanks to a full new paint job in timeless black and off-white, while her technical and sailing systems have been comprehensively reviewed and updated where needed.

Inside, Borkumriff II’s master cabin has been given a full decorative revamp, including paint and varnishing work as well as a new hardwood mahogany floor. The saloon and guest cabins also have a fresh look thanks to new upholstery, paint and varnish work, alongside audiovisual and air conditioning system modernizations. In addition, all her cabins have new mattresses, pillows and bed linens.

The wheelhouse has been renovated, including new Thermopane insulated windows with chromed frames, new flooring and upholstery, and a full redecoration and revarnishing. The galley and crew areas have also been refurbished, with new equipment including laundry machines. Energy efficient LED lighting has been introduced throughout the interior, and she has a suite of brand new navigation and electronics systems.

On deck, all hardware has been updated or refurbished, including the gangway and stairs, and the deck rubber has been replaced. Her tenders – including a fun wooden motor launch and practical RIB – have been given a comprehensive service. After her five-year inspection in June 2020, Borkumriff II is fully compliant with the necessary class standards.

Currently located in The Netherlands, Borkumriff II is poised whisk away a new owner or charterers for some liberating cruising on this unique luxury yacht.
