The SEE event center will come alive to banters, music and laughter come Sunday April, 30 as Lawretta Ogrih, SEE Center and SEE Magazine CEO goes R.E.D for charity. Tagged ‘The R.E.D Moment: Restoring Everything Damaged’, the event is a charity comedy show put together to empower women in need.
Ogrih said the event is an initiative of her foundation, Ivory Whetstones & Mentors Foundation, to continue its outreach to women.
“We have a total comedy. It is a Workers’ Day weekend. We believe one ticket will make a double impact. We want people to come and have a treat. The ticket will impact a struggling woman or widow. The proceed from the show will be used to empower women,” she explained.
According to her, there are prizes to be won my guests through raffle draw. Some of the prizes are: return ticket to Dubai, an all-expense paid trip, a night at Leawood Hotel, spa treatment package among other prizes.
“The economic situation is making people be on the edge. The show is a way of making people relax from the pressure of the economic recession. A comedy show like this will make people laugh and forget the recession,” she added.
Ogrih said the proceed from the show will be used to empower at least 50 women. Previously, her foundation had reached out to children by giving them school supplies like school bags, uniforms, shoes, fees payment among others.
“We also planned to reach out to struggling single parents especially women. We have women on our waiting list from the last outreach we did. They are the ones we are targeting with the proceeds from the R.E.D Comedy show.”
Some of the comedians that will perform at the show include Owen Gee, Lepacious Bose, Koffi. Cee Y, Aboki and others. Tickets are available at Prince Abeano supermarkets, Blenco, Leawood Hotel and SEE Event center.
