Bizzarrini 5300 GT: Luxury Automotive Heritage Meets Modern Precision
Luxury automotive heritage meets modern precision in the Bizzarrini 5300 GT Corsa Revival car.
In a resplendent celebration of automotive legacy, the Bizzarrini 5300 GT Corsa Revival has been named Robb Report’s Best Continuation Car in the 2024 Annual Best of the Best Awards.
Recognized globally as a pinnacle of luxury accolades, Robb Report’s Best of the Best Awards, now in its 36th year, honor excellence across 16 categories, including fashion, cars, yachts, art, design, food, wine, and philanthropy.
The Bizzarrini 5300 GT Corsa Revival won acclaim for its meticulous attention to detail and exceptional craftsmanship, praised for its ability to transport enthusiasts back to the golden era of racing. The revival of this iconic model pays homage to the original Bizzarrini 5300 GT, which famously clinched its class victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1965.
Simon Busby, Chief Marketing Officer of Bizzarrini, expressed immense pride in receiving this prestigious award. “There’s a huge amount of competition in this class, so it’s a real honor to receive the award from Robb Report for Best Continuation Car. This recognition is a testament to our commitment to preserving automotive heritage whilst integrating modern precision. Our team has worked tirelessly to ensure every detail reflects the timeless elegance and blistering performance of the original, and we are thrilled that our dedication has been acknowledged in this way.”
The accolade comes at a significant juncture as Bizzarrini marks the completion of its ambitious Corsa Revival programme. Over the past 24 months, the brand has meticulously crafted 24 units, each embodying the spirit and engineering excellence of its predecessor. These revival models boast a lightweight single-piece composite body mounted on a robust steel frame.
The interior features a comprehensive six-point roll cage and a safety fuel cell, adhering to FIA Appendix K regulations, ensuring both authenticity and safety. Under the hood, the Bizzarrini 5300 GT Corsa Revival is powered by a period-specific 5,300 cubic centimeter V8 engine, delivering over 400 horsepower. This, combined with its front-mid engine layout, independent rear suspension designed to Giotto’s innovative Corsa specification, and all-round disc brakes, gives the vehicle a power-to-weight ratio rivaling modern supercars.
Busby also highlighted the brand’s future endeavors, notably the development of the all-new Giotto hypercar. This project reunites Bizzarrini with legendary designer Giorgetto Giugiaro and his son Fabrizio at GFG Style in Turin, Italy. This partnership rekindles a historic collaboration that began 60 years ago when a young Giugiaro, working at Bertone, contributed to the design of the original Bizzarrini 5300 GT.
The Robb Report’s recognition not only celebrates the Bizzarrini 5300 GT Corsa Revival’s remarkable journey from conception to completion but also heralds a new chapter for the storied marque. As Bizzarrini moves forward with the Giotto hypercar, it continues to blend its rich heritage with cutting-edge innovation, ensuring that its legacy of excellence endures.
For enthusiasts and collectors alike, the Bizzarrini 5300 GT Corsa Revival represents not just a car, but a piece of living history—an extraordinary blend of past glory and present-day prowess.
