Rockett St George Bartholomew Cocktail Chair

The vintage Bartolomew cocktail chairs were produced in Germany in the 1950s, with tapered legs typical of the period and a plain curved back that hugs you as you recline.  However the version pictured here has been well re-upholstered by vintage furniture brand Galapagos in the fabulous Kirkby’s Underground Bakerloo fabric. The fabric design is inspired by the original fabrics of the London Underground tube trains. Kirkby Design have collaborated with Transport for London (TfL) to recreate iconic moquette fabric designs taken from the London Transport Museum’s archive, which have been re-worked into a collection of contemporary viscose velvets.

It measures 72cm x 70cm x 70cm and comes in velvet.  It is sold at £625 on www.rockettstgeorge.co.uk
