The Bella Suite takes luxury up a notch

I was dropped off at the entrance to The Palazzo Hotel and Casino at a few minutes past ten (Las Vegas’ time) on a slightly windy Sunday morning. The hotel lobby was quite busy. The hotel luggage handlers, porters and the receptionists were busy attending to guests.
It was as if everyone arrived at the same time as the hotel was, perhaps experiencing its busiest time of the year. The Palazzo situated in Las Vegas, United States, was the venue of this year’s edition of EMC Conference.
As I walked into the expansive lobby with my co-traveller, Abimbola Akosile of ThisDay Newspaper, I tried to soak in the breathtaking view before me. I could tell from the architectural design that a great deal of care and planning went into the construction of The Palazzo. There is a beautifully decorated fountain at the middle of the lobby with statues of two angels standing on it. I will later discover after going on an exploration of the hotel that flowers and butterflies are the signature of The Palazzo’s design.
Located on the Las Vegas Strip, The Palazzo shares the same environment with The Venetian, another hotel, as guests can seamlessly walk from one to the other. Unique to the Las Vegas Strip, The Palazzo offers an array of high-end amenities integrated under one roof to provide the ultimate guest experience.
As the receptionist handed over my key she gave me a map of the hotel to enable me get around easily. “Your room is on the sixth floor. Take the next turn to your right. Walk through the casino and get on the lift to your room,” she said.
My room is a luxury suite. It features a Roman tub, a plush king-sized bed with Egyptian cotton sheets, a sunken living area complete with HD TVs and fine furnishings. On the plush king-sized bed are a pillow-top bed, and four soft pillows. In the closet are ironing board, iron, two bathrobes and a safe.
I could tell I would live the good life for the duration of my short stay. I settled down quickly to embrace the beauty and grace of the suite.
I was later told the room is approximately 720 square feet (67 square metres); a size that nearly doubles the size of other hotel rooms in Las Vegas. The luxury suite has a living room with a dining table and fully-stocked refreshment centre. Care must be taken not to open the fridge even if you don’t intend to purchase an item as mere opening could mean you have purchased something even when you did not. In addition, the living room has a L-shaped full-sized sofa-sleeper, oversized coffee table and a dedicated work desk that makes you stay in touch with your work in the office. On top of the desk are: dual-line telephone and personal printer/scanner/copier. There is high-speed Internet access (wired/wireless) whose charge is included in the compulsory $44 resort fee you have to pay at the front desk before check-in. The large window gives you a good view of the city as it sleeps and wakes to the rhythm of the early morning sun. The remote-controlled Roman shades and curtains can be mechanically pulled apart.
The bathroom is another amazing world. The 130-square-foot bathroom (12 square metres) features a Roman tub with separate glass-enclosed shower, a 17 inch flat-screen LCD HD TV, private water closet with telephone, double-sink vanity and dry vanity with makeup mirror.
If you are travelling with your family, the Bella Suite is highly recommended. With two queen-size beds and a larger floor space, the Bella Suite takes the Luxury up a notch. Relax in the sunken living room with full-sized couch, oversized coffee table and an ottoman or get a few things done in the private work area. A favourite with families and business travellers due to its extra space in the bedroom, the Bella Suite is the hotel’s standard suite accommodation. This is the ideal headquarters for a memorable stay, putting you in the centre of the action on the Las Vegas Strip, amid the elegant ambiance of a world-class resort.
You may also want to consider the Fortuna Suite where you can make yourself feel at home in it is an upgrade from The Palazzo’s standard suite. It has a lovely sitting area with comfortable arm chairs, where you can enjoy a cocktail in the privacy of the elegant suite before an evening of exciting nightlife, or check the newspaper with an early morning coffee.

Fortuna Suite has an Italian marble foyer, sitting area, spacious walk-in closet, and unique views of the Las Vegas Strip or The Palazzo pool.
The Prestige is the ultimate suite for the executive. It is many levels above the rest. The special treatment begins the moment you arrive. The executive treatment starts right from the private check-in desk, to unrivalled amenities and other personal touches you will enjoy as an executive. It is a breathtaking lounge with a great view you can take in.
As a guest of Prestige, you will enjoy many complimentary amenities that are hand chosen for the select few. You can enjoy the private prosecco check-in and the personal concierge assistance available from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. A continental breakfast is served from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and guests of all ages are permitted in bar area until 10 a.m. However, after 10 a.m. guests under age 21 are not permitted in bar area.
Likewise, you can enjoy afternoon coffees and teas served from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Hot and cold appetizers from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. plus complimentary cocktail reception from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. You can take advantage of the amenities at the business centre with copying, printing and internet availability. There is private meeting space, a boardroom which accommodates up to 12 guests and media room that accommodates up to 25 guests, for an additional charge.
Lovers of great dishes will have a wide array of restaurants to choose from. There are over 38 restaurants at The Venetian and The Palazzo. You can dine at the B&B Ristorante which features award winning chef Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich. Their acclaimed blend of exquisite Italian food and a casual elegance is irresistible.
The CUT restaurant operated by Wolfgang Puck, a AAA Four Diamond Award Winner located at The Palazzo waterfall atrium is another interesting restaurant to dine. It has been named the best steakhouse in Las Vegas.
