FUNKE OSAE-BROWN
Chopard is embarking on something even more ambitious this season with the launch of its jewellery line, a diffusion line of charming, easy pieces made entirely from Fairmined gold. Named the Palme Verte, the collection is inspired by the Palme d’Or trophy’s leaf motif.
This collection is truly an ambitious step taken by Chopard. With this collection, gold is taken to a new level as it is mixed with the Fairmined, the production process has to be kept entirely separate, meaning every machine has to be stopped and washed before and after Fairmined gold is used.
The Palme Verte collection includes a ring N538, 266.35 (£1,770), pendant N818, 043.22 (£2,690), earrings N1, 250,048.42 (£4,110) and bracelet N2, 127,734.77 (£7,000). They all come in 18ct yellow gold. The second version in Fairmined white gold and pavé diamonds is due for release later this year. The collection is released to celebrate Chopard’s 60th anniversary.
“What I love about this collection is that it makes ethical jewellery more accessible,” Chopard creative director and co-president Caroline Scheufele told FT’s How to Spend It. “It can be worn casually during the day or more elegantly in the evening and its purpose is to spread an awareness of this important journey in the luxury industry as far as we can.” Truly, the Palme Verte is a superb marriage between the fair and the very gorgeous.
