The curvaceous leg of the table evokes a stacked heel stiletto and is hand sculpted from solid walnut

Furniture artists are really becoming more creative in their presentations of home furniture. This stiletto table created by Splinter Works, a London based design studio, is an all in one desk, console table and dressing table.

The idea behind Stiletto is to create a desk that can be alternatively used as desk, console table or dressing table. The hand sculpted piece made of walnut has a triangular top that rests, on one side, on a curved base and, on the other one, on one slender leg which recalls a stiletto heel that can be used also as a conduit to hide all the cables coming from the devices lying on the desk.

Stiletto can function as a desk, console table or dressing table. The curvaceous leg of the table evokes a stacked heel stiletto and is hand sculpted from solid walnut. The iconic ‘red sole’ defines the underside of the table in stained bird’s eye maple, with a French burr walnut top (as seen here) or with inlaid leather (offering a modern twist on a leather topped writing desk). The drawers have no handles, just a hidden finger groove on the underside ensures the seamless functionality of the clean sculptural shape. The drawers are lined in red baize. A conduit runs through the table leg so cables can be kept hidden. As with all pieces, custom sizes and finishes are available to order.

The iconic underside of the table is made by red polished acrylic, which, together with the particular dynamic shape of the entire structure, give to it a contemporary line. To be perfectly integrated with the sleek design, the drawers, located on the curved base and lined in red nubuck leather, come without runners and handles, but maintain their functionality thanks to their glide opening and to a hidden drill on the underside.
