The National Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (NANTAP) will celebrate the 2017 edition of World Theatre Day with a command performance of ‘Beyond the Garb’ by the Thespian Family Theatre on March 27, 2017 at the National Arts Theatre, Iganmu.

Speaking at the media briefing to announce this year’s event, Isreal Eboh, NANTAP national president said the celebration will consist of different events that will run for two days.

“We will kick off the celebration with an advocacy roundtable with the theme, ‘Theatre, A Springboard For Effective Recovery From Economic Recession. The discussants are: Greg Odutayo, Toyin Oshinaike and Tope Oshin. Ben Tomoloju will do the industry review while Toyin Akinosho will do a critical review of our works as thespians. The moderator will be Tunji Azeez,” he explained.

Eboh added that in addition to the command performance of ‘Beyond the Garb’, there will be a staging of ‘Moremi’ on the 26th and ‘Osusu’ by Lagos State Arts Council on the 27th by 5pm at the National Arts Theatre.
