COVID-19: Here Is What Hotels Are Doing To Stay On Guests’ Mind

Share

Hotels around the world are empty as nations battle COVID-19 across the globe. Except for a few countries like Ghana and Isreal where some hotels are used as isolation centres for infected patients, not much is happening in hotels. The travel ban since the outbreak of COVID-19 has forced airlines to ground all their aircraft while hotel rooms remain unoccupied.

However, some hotels are getting creative in the way they have been reaching out to guests who have previously lodged at their facilities and their brand followers. For example, Avani Hotels in Bangkok, keeps the beat going with a series of Working From Home (WFH) Playlists it curated for their listening pleasure in the comfort of their homes while on lockdown.

The playlist which is available on Spotify, it was curated by the Avani Team to brighten up the ongoing lockdown with feel-good tunes.

“Work From Home playlist is an upbeat mix of Indie pop, chillout and house hit by Dua Lipa, Demi Lovato, Jax Jones, Becky Hill, Khalid, David Guetta, DNCE, The Chainsmokers and Maroon 5. With an ear finely tuned to the needs of mind and spirit, the Avani team have put their heads together to produce a playlist of immersive, reverberating tracks to set your mind to the task ahead. So, put the noise-cancelling headphones or turn your favourite speakers on and pump up the volume. Feel your spirits soar as you tap away on your laptop, feet tapping along,” Adhiyanto Goen, director of public relations, Avani Hotels & Resorts, said in a statement

Some of the playlists are tied into events around the hotel giving the hotel the brand visibility it needs at this time. The Korean Golden Hits Playlist, for example, celebrates Avani Hotels’ entry into South Korea in late 2019, the team at Avani Central Busan Hotel put together a mix of tunes from K-Drama and K-Pop culture. A musical genre consisting of electronic, hip hop, pop, rock, and R&B music originating in South Korea.

Also, the hotel’s SEEN Rooftop Restaurant & Bar’s music director, Scotty B, also curated a special playlist tagged Ladies’ Night. Inspired by the venue’s popular Mamacita Ladies’ Night, the resident DJ has whipped up a playlist catchy enough for an impromptu dance-off after a day working from home.

Also, Anantara Hotels, Resorts and Spa shared beauty and pampering tips to enable its clients to cocoon while staying at home. Some of the routines include skincare, hair and more.

“As we continue to practice social distancing, we understand the importance of practising self-care, and that maintaining a beauty regime is key to looking and feeling good. Life under lockdown does not have to mean a complete pause, after all, it’s the simple things, like a soothing face mask or fragrant bath that can help us through the day.

As part of our ongoing efforts to share healthy living recommendations across social media using the hashtag #AnantaraEscapism, we consulted with our pool of experts at Anantara Spas, who are also staying home for the greater good, to share their favourite skin, hair, and body boosters that can be crafted into your routine at leisure,” said Caitriona Gaffney, director of public relations.
