Kunle Afolayan’s latest vintage car will make you green with envy. The filmmaker rode the car to his newly opened KAPHub on Wednesday as some of his staff stood in awe of it.
The 1929 Mercedes-Benz Gazelle which he acquired November 2019 is an addition to his growing list of vintage cars.
“I am an old soul, vintage mind, classic blood in the contemporary body,” says the filmmaker about the car in an Instagram post on Wednesday night.
He told The Luxury Reporter in an exclusive chat he is acquiring vintage cars for the purpose of shooting period films.
“We suffered that when we shot ‘October 1’. So, I decided to start prepping for future projects. And they will be available for people who might want to shoot period films or series,” he said.
The car comes with some interesting features. The stunning blue paint on it is a great contrast to the luxurious mahogany brown leather seats. A real wood dash and steering wheel add to the genuine period look on this 1929 Mercedes Gazelle Car. Other added features include a luggage rack, leather hood strap, matching rear spare tyre, matching brown convertible top.
