Several more hulls have been ordered retail for the newly released fiberglass cruising yacht, and according to Vicem’s Production Manager, Yigit Akbarlas, the vessel is proving that the yard is capable of designing and building world-class yachts in both cold-molded and fiberglass construction.

“When we introduced the Vicem 50 Classic as a fiberglass model,” says Akbarlas, “we realized at
Vicem that we could deliver a quicker turnaround time to customers while at the same time we could develop a yacht that exceeds our owners’ high expectations in terms of quality, style, and
seaworthiness.”

On the water, the Vicem 50 Classic is a well-equipped vessel even in its standard configuration, with heavy after-market equipment that includes gyro stabilization and a transom-mounted dinghy lift. The vessel is capable of top speeds exceeding 25 knots and is projected to maintain a range of 477 nautical miles at a slower cruising speed of around 8.5 knots. Expectations for a lighter-equipped
vessel and/or a vessel with the more powerful optional engine package should push the top speeds to the predicted 28-knot or higher range.
Hull number 2 in the line will serve as the model for the Vicem 50 Classic’s “standard”configuration, though the yard is more than willing to work with owners to customize the vessel to each owner’s individual cruising needs.

Noelle Semmes, Vicem US sales manager, adds that customers can choose to have tunnels
added for reduced draft, or even straight shafts for owners who prefer a more conventional drivetrain.

“Other than the saloon versus flybridge option,” Semmes says, “customers will also have the option for galley up or down, or the standard two- or optional three- stateroom accommodations layout, plus a wide range of options from cabinetry and countertop surfaces to cabin sole flooring. Vicem took great care to think about all types of customers and their style preferences.”
