Lagos Continental Hotel

The Lagos Continental Hotel is unveiling an all-female floor on Monday to commemorate the International Women’s Day. The floor is a new addition to the hotel’s offerings, and it is dedicated to female executive travellers.

New Innovation

The new All-Female Floor is one of the series of new innovations introduced to the new look hotel says Marcel Brekelmans, the hotel’s general manager.

Located on the 18th floor, the all-female section consists of 20 standard rooms and two suites.

“We have understood that female travellers look for different amenities that a male traveller. We try to bring that into our hotel,” says Brekelmans.

Each Room On The Floor

Each room on the floor features exquisite furnishings that suit the female persona, and it includes soft Egyptian bed linens, top of the range amenities, nail polish removers, hair dryer among others.

In addition, each room will be named after an iconic African woman whose picture and story will be placed on the room walls to serve as a source of inspiration to anyone who stays in the rooms.

“There will be extra security on the floor. We will put a female security on the floor to give guests that additional safety feeling. All our service personnel on the floor will be female. However, it has been difficult getting a female plumber in that case we will call to request if the guest would like the plumber to work while she is not in the room or request for a room change. However, guests’ male visitors are allowed, ” explains Brekelmans.

Special Check-in

Finally, there will be a special check-in counter at the hotel as the special female treatment begins from there. The premium package offering by Lagos Continental, Brekelmans believe, will be a game-changer in the Nigerian hospitality industry.

“We are the first hotel in Nigeria to offer this service. We believe there is a market for it. The Covid-19 pandemic outbreak is forcing many hoteliers to rethink their marketing strategy. This is one of the series of services we are introducing to reposition our hotel and stay competitive.”
