Why New Black Badge Ghost Is The Purest Car Yet

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has announced the new Balck Badge Ghost which in terms of design could be described as the purest car yet.

The signature black has been the darling of the affluent who have commissioned the Black Badge out of the marque’s 44,000 ‘ready-to-wear’ colours. The signature Black is the motor car industry’s darkest black, 100lbs (45kg) of paint is atomised and applied to an electrostatically charged body in white before being oven-dried. The motor car then receives two layers of the clear coat before being hand-polished by a team of four craftsmen to produce the marque’s signature high-gloss piano finish.

“Today, we announce a product that represents a new kind of Black Badge motor car, one that seizes on the minimalist, Post Opulent design treatment that has recast the legend of Ghost but amplifies and subverts it with the application of black. Our most advanced motor car yet has been reengineered to characterise the alter ego of Rolls-Royce: assertive, dynamic, and potent. This is the purest Black Badge motor car in the marque’s history. This is Black Badge Ghost,” says Torsten Müller-Ötvös, Chief Executive Officer, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.

When Black Badge Ghost was launched five years ago, it has come the symbol of the pinnacle of a new type of super-luxury product, setting in motion a shift across the wider luxury industry. It comes with 6.75-litre V12 engine that delivers increased power (600PS) and torque (900NM) while the drivetrain and chassis is re-engineered for more urgent performance.

The interior comes in a curated collection of striking Turchese leather and technical carbon veneer. The bespoke alloy wheel introduced in Black Badge house style with carbon fibre barrel.
